SocialCTL is operated by NextCTL LLC. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when using SocialCTL — including the content you generate, schedule, and publish. It forms part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service. By using SocialCTL, you agree to follow this policy.
1. Prohibited content
You may not use SocialCTL to generate, store, schedule, or publish content that:
- Is illegal under any applicable law, or that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
- Infringes intellectual property — copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, or other proprietary rights — including passing off someone else's work, brand, or likeness as your own.
- Is hateful, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory toward individuals or groups, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
- Is deceptive or fraudulent, including scams, false claims, fake reviews, or content designed to mislead consumers.
- Impersonates a person, brand, or organisation in a way that could mislead, or that falsely implies endorsement or affiliation.
- Is sexually explicit, exploits or endangers minors, or is otherwise obscene.
- Discloses someone's private or personal information without authorisation.
2. Prohibited conduct
Beyond content, you may not use SocialCTL to:
- Spam — send bulk, repetitive, or unsolicited content, or run coordinated inauthentic behaviour across connected platforms.
- Distribute malware, phishing links, or anything designed to harm, exploit, or gain unauthorised access to a device, account, or network.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest the service, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to abuse it.
- Circumvent or interfere with rate limits, credit metering, tenant isolation, security controls, or authentication.
- Abuse the AI to evade safety systems — for example, prompting it to produce prohibited content, or attempting to extract, jailbreak, or manipulate underlying models or prompts.
- Overload, disrupt, or degrade the service or the infrastructure of SocialCTL or our providers.
3. Third-party platform rules
SocialCTL connects to third-party platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and YouTube. You must comply with each platform's own terms of service, community guidelines, and developer/API policies when you publish through SocialCTL. Using SocialCTL to violate a connected platform's rules — including automation, spam, or content policies they prohibit — is a violation of this AUP, and may also put your account on that platform at risk.
4. No competing generation service
You may not resell, redistribute, or repackage SocialCTL's generated output, models, or AI capabilities as a competing content-generation or AI service. Using SocialCTL for your own and your clients' social content is fine and encouraged; building a rival generation product on top of our service, or reselling raw generation capacity, is not — unless you have a written agency or reseller agreement with us.
5. Your responsibility for what you publish
AI-generated content is a starting point, not a finished, fact-checked product. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving everything before it goes live on your connected accounts, and for ensuring it is accurate, on-brand, lawful, and compliant with the relevant platform's policies. SocialCTL provides the tools; the decision to publish, and the content that results, is yours.
6. Enforcement
We investigate suspected violations and respond in proportion to the severity and pattern of the conduct. Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Issue a warning and ask you to remove or correct the offending content or behaviour.
- Suspend some or all account features, including generation, scheduling, or publishing, while we review.
- Terminate the account for serious, repeated, or egregious violations.
For severe abuse — such as illegal content or security attacks — we may suspend or terminate immediately and without prior notice, and may report the matter to the relevant authorities or platforms. Accounts terminated for an AUP violation are not eligible for a refund of any subscription fees or credits.
7. Reporting abuse
If you believe content created or published through SocialCTL violates this policy, or you've spotted a security issue, tell us. Email [email protected] with as much detail as you can — links, screenshots, and a short description of the problem. We take reports seriously and act on them promptly.
8. Relationship to the Terms
This AUP supplements our Terms of Service; where the Terms and this policy overlap, both apply. A breach of this AUP is also a breach of the Terms. We may update this policy as the product, the law, or our providers' requirements change — material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
9. Contact
Questions about what's allowed, or need to report something? Email [email protected] or use the contact form. For the full agreement covering your use of SocialCTL, see our Terms of Service.
