SocialCTL is operated by NextCTL LLC. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how billing works, how to cancel or downgrade, what happens to your credits, and when we issue refunds. It forms part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service.

1. Our billing model

SocialCTL runs on a subscription plus credit-based model. Your monthly plan grants a recurring credit allowance for AI generation — reels, carousels, static posts, and other actions each consume a set number of credits. When you need more than your plan includes, you can buy one-time credit packs at any time. Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. All payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

2. How to cancel

Cancelling is self-serve and takes seconds. You have two ways to do it:

  • In-app — open /dashboard/billing, find your active plan, and choose to cancel. Your subscription is marked to end at the close of the current billing period.
  • Stripe customer portal — from the same billing page you can open the Stripe-hosted customer portal to manage your subscription, update your payment method, view invoices, and cancel directly with our payment processor.

When you cancel, you are not charged again, and you keep full access to your plan's features and remaining plan credits until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate or refund the unused remainder of the current period.

3. What happens to your credits

Credits behave differently from your subscription, so it's worth being precise:

  • On cancellation — you can keep using your remaining credits until your paid period ends. Once the subscription lapses, any unused monthly plan credits expire and are not carried into a free or lapsed state.
  • On downgrade — moving to a smaller plan takes effect at your next renewal. Your new, lower monthly allowance applies from that date; we do not refund the difference in price or top up the gap between plans for the period already billed.
  • Credit packs — one-time credit packs you've purchased remain usable while your account is active. They are not refundable for being unused, and they expire if your account is closed or remains inactive for an extended period (as described in our Terms).

4. Our default: no refunds for partial periods or unused credits

Consistent with our Terms of Service, refunds are not generally provided for partial billing periods, for downgrades, or for credits you purchased but did not use. Because credits unlock AI generation the moment they're available to you — and AI compute is consumed in real time — we treat purchased credits and the current subscription period as delivered value. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not reverse a charge already made for the current period.

5. When we do issue refunds

We make exceptions in good faith. We will review and, where appropriate, issue a refund or credit in cases such as:

  • Billing errors — a duplicate charge, a charge after a confirmed cancellation, an incorrect amount, or a charge for a plan you did not subscribe to.
  • Extended service outages — if a sustained, SocialCTL-side outage prevents you from using the service for a meaningful portion of a billing period, we will compensate fairly, typically through a credit or partial refund.
  • Failed AI generation — this is handled automatically. When a generation fails or returns placeholder output, the credits it consumed are refunded to your balance without you needing to ask. You are never charged for output we couldn't deliver.

6. How to request a review

If you believe you've been charged in error, or you've experienced an outage that affected your use of the service, email [email protected] with your account email, the approximate date and amount of the charge, and a short description of the issue. We aim to respond within a few business days. Where a refund is warranted, it is returned to your original payment method via Stripe; depending on your bank, it can take several business days to appear.

7. Chargebacks

If something looks wrong on your statement, please contact us first — we can almost always resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is investigated, since the funds are held by the card network. We'll work with you to make things right, and we keep clear records of subscriptions, renewals, and credit usage to resolve any question quickly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy as our plans or providers change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date, and where the change affects existing subscribers we'll provide reasonable notice. The version in effect at the time of your charge governs that charge.
